Pattern hair loss has two sides: DHT shrinks follicles, and shortened growth cycles produce finer, shorter hairs. Finasteride 1 mg blocks the enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT, protecting follicles from further miniaturization. Low-dose oral minoxidil widens the blood vessels that feed follicles and lengthens the growth phase, so more hairs are growing at once. Biotin (vitamin B7) supports the keratin that hair is built from.
The strip dissolves in seconds and the ingredients are absorbed systemically, so the whole scalp is treated without applying anything topically. Daily Strip is a compounded product and is not FDA-approved; finasteride 1 mg tablets and topical minoxidil are FDA-approved individually.
Place one strip on your tongue once a day, at roughly the same time, and let it dissolve; no water is needed. The dose is fixed, so there is no titration. Give it at least three to six months of daily use before judging results, and keep taking it to maintain them.
Daily Strip is for men with male pattern hair loss who want more than finasteride alone, men who dislike topical routines, and postmenopausal women at their provider's discretion. It's a natural next step if Core Tab has plateaued or if you want to combine DHT blocking with growth stimulation in a single daily habit.
Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy are not eligible, and women of childbearing potential should not take or handle finasteride. Scarring alopecia, alopecia areata, frontal fibrosing alopecia and hair loss from an active scalp infection need in-person evaluation; if your intake suggests one of these, you won't be charged.
Month 1. Building the habit. DHT drops within days and follicles start getting more blood flow, but visible change takes time. Some people notice mild lightheadedness early on.
Month 2. The shed, sometimes. Minoxidil can push resting hairs out to make room for new growth, so shedding may briefly increase. It's temporary.
Months 3–4. Shedding slows and fine, short new hairs appear at the hairline or part. Many people notice less scalp showing through.
Months 6–12. Visible results for most by six months, with continued thickening through the first year. Results depend on continued use; hair loss resumes if you stop.

Daily Strip combines three ingredients in one dissolvable oral strip: minoxidil 2.5 mg to stimulate follicles and extend the growth phase, finasteride 1 mg to lower the DHT that shrinks them, and biotin to support normal hair health. It dissolves on the tongue in seconds, so there is nothing to swallow and no scalp routine.
Core Tab is finasteride alone. Daily Strip adds low-dose oral minoxidil and biotin, so it addresses both the hormonal cause of pattern hair loss and growth stimulation in a single daily dose. It is a compounded product and is not FDA-approved, whereas finasteride 1 mg tablets are. The strip is a good step up if finasteride alone has plateaued or if you want to avoid a topical.
Low-dose oral minoxidil can cause unwanted hair growth on the face or body, temporary shedding, ankle swelling, lightheadedness, headache or a faster heart rate. These are usually mild at 2.5 mg, but tell your provider if you have heart disease or low blood pressure. The finasteride component carries the same precautions as Core Tab, including the pregnancy warning.
Most people notice less shedding by month three and early regrowth between months three and six, with continued thickening through the first year of consistent daily use. Six months is the first fair checkpoint, and photos taken in the same light every month are the best way to track progress. Results depend on continued use: if you stop, hair loss gradually returns.
It can. Minoxidil pushes resting hairs out to make room for new growth, so shedding may briefly increase around weeks two to eight. It's temporary and a normal sign the treatment is working. Contact your provider if shedding is severe or continues past month three.
No labs are required. You complete an online assessment, upload a photo ID and a few scalp photos, and a licensed U.S. provider reviews everything. Follow-ups are included, and your provider can switch you to a different formula if your scalp doesn't tolerate the first one.
Oral options (Core Tab, Daily Strip) are a once-daily tablet or strip and act throughout the body. Topical sprays are applied to the scalp, which limits how much medication enters the bloodstream, a common reason people choose them, but they require a daily application routine and can irritate sensitive skin. Many patients combine an oral and a topical; your provider will recommend a plan that matches your pattern of loss.
Hair thinning was reported in the Wegovy® trials (about 3% vs 1% on placebo) and the Zepbound® trials (4–5% vs 1%), more often in women. It's generally linked to rapid weight loss rather than the drug itself, usually starts a few months into treatment and often improves as weight stabilizes. Minoxidil-based treatments can speed recovery, and a finasteride-free spray is appropriate for women of any age.
Topical finasteride products are prescribed to women only after acknowledging pregnancy precautions. Finasteride can cause birth defects, so women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, planning a pregnancy or not using reliable contraception should not use or handle these sprays. Women of any age can start with Sensitive Spray, our finasteride-free formula.
Scarring alopecia, alopecia areata, frontal fibrosing alopecia and hair loss from an active scalp infection need in-person evaluation. If your photos or history suggest one of these, your provider will tell you, point you to the right kind of care, and you won't be charged.
If a GobyMeds provider decides a prescription isn't appropriate for you, you receive a 100% refund of the medication price (lab fees, where they apply, are not refunded). Once your order has been sent to our medical partners or to the pharmacy for fulfillment we will do our best to accommodate changes or cancellations, but we can't guarantee them, and in some cases an adjustment or cancellation carries a $50 medical consultation fee.
Because of regulations covering prescription medication, we are unable to accept returned medication for a refund.
No insurance is needed and GobyMeds does not bill insurance. The price you see is the price you pay, with provider consultation and shipping included and no membership fee.
HSA and FSA cards are accepted at checkout, and we can provide a letter of medical necessity if your plan administrator asks for one.
You answer a short health questionnaire and upload a photo ID. A licensed U.S. provider reviews your history, confirms the treatment is appropriate, and writes the prescription. There is no video call to schedule unless your provider or your state requires one, and follow-up messaging with your care team is included with every plan.
If you're not a candidate, you'll be told why and refunded in full.
Once-daily dissolvable strip combining minoxidil 2.5 mg, finasteride 1 mg, and biotin.
Start your online visitOral minoxidil at 2.5 mg can cause unwanted hair growth on the face or body, a brief increase in shedding in the first weeks, headache, lightheadedness, ankle swelling or a faster heart rate; these are usually mild but tell your provider about any heart disease or low blood pressure. From the finasteride component, a small percentage of men (under 4% in studies) reported decreased libido, erectile dysfunction or ejaculation problems, most of which resolved; breast tenderness and mood changes including depression are less common, and rarely these have persisted after stopping.
Finasteride can cause birth defects; women who are pregnant or may become pregnant must not take, handle or be exposed to finasteride, including topical products. The FDA has noted reports of the same side effects seen with oral finasteride in some people using compounded topical products. Finasteride can also affect PSA results, so tell any provider ordering a PSA that you take it.
Do not take Daily Strip if you are a woman who is pregnant, may become pregnant or is breastfeeding. Tell your provider about heart disease, low blood pressure, fainting, pheochromocytoma, liver disease, a history of prostate cancer or any medication for blood pressure.
